After passing the 500 followers mark, I thought it might be fun to open up @writewritenow’s landscape of art, inspiration and collaboration. Hype us, we’ll hype you, and we’ll both get a very important message out to the writers who follow us both!
The whole account is rooted in simplicity, and so is the way features happen:
- Make a post, in whatever style you like, where the main focus is the phrase “Write. Write now.” See the feed for a ton of examples
- In your caption, mention @writewritenow, send a DM if you’d like anything special said about your account, art, product, etc.
- If the post meets the guidelines below, it’ll get shared on @writewritenow with a mention of your account in the caption, plus any reasonable extra stuff
General guidelines
Posts that are of poor visual quality (e.g. blurry, too dark), fail to meet the criteria of Step 1 and 2, violate common sense boundaries of appropriateness or are otherwise in poor taste will not be featured. Happy to chat over DM if there are any questions or concerns. We will review every mention, and try our best to accommodate personalized messages. Please be patient, and understand that we won’t necessarily feature everyone.
Q&A
Is this only for bookish people or writers?
Nope! Literally open to anyone who wants some insta-love or cross promotion. You could be a total rando holding up a sign (first rando to do this will get linked here as an example, ha!). Just follow the guidelines above.
Do the posts have to be illustrative?
They do not, but the words “Write. Write now.” have to be prominent and the main focus of the picture. It’s any style you like, so it could be a picture of handwriting, digital, a bunch of plants arranged to make words, a fake tattoo, a real tattoo (okay don’t do that unless it’s already on you).
Can people be in the picture?
Sure thing!
What if I’m a brand or product page… can my stuff/logo get involved?
Yes! So long as the product/logo does not overwhelm the main phrase.
Do you do “link in bio” style promo?
Not at this time. That would require scheduling and managing an ‘inventory’ and frankly, that sounds like too much work right now, hah. If things change we’ll make noise about it. You can ask us to mention a URL in the caption, so long as the site also meets generally sensible guidelines.
Can I send a picture instead of posting it and mentioning you? My feed would look strange with a big “Write. Write now.” message on it.

How quickly will my post be featured?
@writewritenow tries to publish daily, but it really depends on how many people get involved. I could see it going up to three times a day, so as long as there’s not a massive queue probably within a day or two 🙂
