I did lots of laundry, ran a few errands, and knocked out 2,975 words across two or so scenes in HMep4.
I have used up all the runway there really in this episode’s first act, and need to start cooking on its own special standalone premise. I have a high level sense of how I want to it roll, but do not have access to the particular thread of insight that will propel it forward. There are two approaches to this: basically try and plan it out or write into the wind and see what drops out. Normally, I abhor the the latter option but with my mandate to write every day, I may be forced into it!
Also thought again about spinning up some non-fiction projects. Reread some of my personal journal entries over the past year and a lot of them make good points about trying to spin up some value-add non-fic titles to grease the royalty wheels a bit. It would be a net new venture and take power away from the passion area, but could make sense from a platform and practicality point of view. Food for thought! (And a decent fallback if the words inside the fiction universes get stuck.)
