Last post, I had mentioned a hopeful surge in early April writing output. But as the cards were dealt, turns out I’m in another mini drought (only 1,300 words or so in the past 8 days). This was due to a combo of a busy weekend, a busy workweek, multiple side projects needing some love, and a hitch in the story flow. Still ahead overall!

As a side note, things like these observations are a wonderful tool to have to keep motivated because they give you insight and data into the day-to-day, week-to-week, etc. And it only works if you write it all down somewhere. I am precisely 4,007 words ahead of 2018’s schedule (or 6.1 days). I like keeping in the black on that account, so I know I have to have a nice power day or two (or TEN) within a week. The numbers afford me a better sense of control over this pursuit, which is a great thing to have.
