Back when I started this project, I’d not sold anything, so we were at $0.00/day.
Then I checked in a few months later, after a spattering of friends and family sales to clock in at $0.08/day.
Based on eBook royalties, a writer’s function with Wattpad, and estimated hard copy revenues, my figure is now $0.59/day — a 7X boost! If you cut out the cash from Wattpad, we’re closer to 17 cents a day.
Not exactly a working wage, but movement. Precious, precious movement. Hopefully by next year I’m over the buck a day threshold, with indication of acceleration. Patience and perseverance are the keys, and I’m happy to report that while blogging every day was a task too far, I’ve written every day since New Year’s. Some days were only 8 fiction words, other had many thousands.
All told, I’ve added 108,000 words to the roster since the daily challenge, which makes it close to 150,000 since the first ever weigh in. Bringing grand estimated total 335,000, or one third of a million words. Holy words! A good chunk of them are still waiting in the wings to be published.
Not much other news to report! My hope is to turn up the jets on this writing gig once the summer social scene settles, ya know? Peace!
