Developing a tracker

Today’s productive energy was spent on building a spreadsheet for 2018.

I’ve used various sheets to track writing, gym logs, and budgets… but always separately and never across the course of a year. So, I’m making one that combines all these things, with some built in fun formulas and–eventually–charts. I love me a good chart!

I’m not someone who’s very disciplined at writing things down or tracking them, but I’ve improved a little bit over the past, oh, half decade. Hopefully some pretty colours and neat data visualizations will keep me interested in doing it.

Daily things included (so far):

  • Did I write? (Y/N)
  • Wordcount vs. Daily Goal
  • Did I exercise? (Y/N)
  • Major cashflow events
  • # of meals out (daily)
  • Daily blog? (Y/N)
  • Annual budget estimates
  • Weekends, special days, and paydays labelled

Oh, and I also read about metabolism on Wikipedia for a while. Biochemistry is crazy cool.

Here’s a snippet of the sheet with sample data. Pretty simple.
